苦手意識について

僕は算数が苦手だ。私が社会が苦手。といった、何かの教科に苦手意識を持ってはいませんか?
今回は受験生が持つ苦手科目に対しての意識について述べていきます。

相対的に考えれば誰しも得意と苦手(不得意)がある

全ての科目の点数や偏差値が全て揃うことは現実的にはほぼなく、そういった意味では一人一人の成績の中で得意・苦手(不得意)という科目は出てきます。

ただ、これまで指導をしていく中で、その相対的に悪い科目に対して、過剰な反応をしているように見受けられる場合があります。

苦手意識を持つことによる弊害

苦手意識を持つことは、時に成績の向上を妨げる要因になってしまいます。

僕は算数が苦手というのは、やや突き放した言い方をしてしまえば、思考停止に近い考え方かもしれません。苦手だから点数が悪いのはしょうがない、苦手だからこの問題が解けないのはしょうがない、そういった考えをしていないでしょうか。

大切なことは分析とアクション

大切なのは、成績を分析すること、そして分析の結果目標に対してどうなのかということです。
演習が足りていないのか、もしくは基礎的な部分での理解が足りていないのかという点をしっかりと自己分析しないといけません。

模試やテスト、問題演習をした後にしっかりと見直しを行い、なぜ間違えてしまったのかをしっかりと分析し、単に”苦手”なのではなく、”僕は算数の周期算の、特に規則性の見つけ方はもっと勉強しなければ”といった形でアクションまで落とし込むことが非常に大切です。

自分の間違えた問題を見直すことは、間違えた自分を認めることから始まり、かなり辛い作業にはなります。ただ、そこから目を逸らさず、しっかりと自分と向き合って演習を行なっていきましょう。
